Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is hiring a Machine Shop Operator for the 3rd shift in Santa Ana, CA. The role focuses on fabricating sheet metal parts, reading blueprints, and using punch presses, shear, drills, and other equipment to shape metal to specification.

The position offers a 32.5 hour work week with a $3.00 shift premium, plus full benefits and a 401k from day one. Training on 1st shift will occur for a couple months.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years of applicable experience.
  • Experience with weld light, heavy gauge aluminum, stainless steel, brass work.
  • Ability to read and understand production materials, including blueprints and work orders.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run punch press, power shear, hydraulic, mechanical power break, EHRT machine, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Prepare metal parts, fixtures, and equipment for fabrication.
  • Maintain sheet metal equipment.
  • Read drawings and sketches of work to be performed.
  • Operate light metalworking machines to cut, bend, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
  • Move material using a forklift or pallet jack.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Machine Shop Operator – 3rd Shift. We are a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segments. The Machine Shop Operator - 3rd Shift role offers a 32.5 hour work week with a $3.00/hour shift premium. Hours are 10:00 PM – 5:00AM and will start Monday night and go until Saturday morning. Shift includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Full Benefits and 401k plan is offered to you day one of employment.The hourly rate for this position is $23.40 per hour. Shift premium of $3/hour and will train on 1st shift for a couple months.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:What you’ll do:This position requires ability to make, install, and repair a wide variety of sheet-metal products. When fabricating a product, this individual selects a suitable sheet of material and lays out the work, following blueprints, sketches, work orders, or verbal instructions. They locate and mark reference points, using shop mathematics, to calculate angles and curves. Next, they cut the flat material and shape it into a three-dimensional form, using hand and power-driven tolls and fabricating machines.In this function you will:Set up and run punch press, power shear, hydraulic, mechanical power break, EHRT machine, and other fabrication equipment.Prepare metal parts, fixtures, and equipment for fabrication.Maintain sheet metal equipmentRead drawings and sketches of work to be performedOperate light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses to cut, bend, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveter, welding, soldering, and similar equipment to fabricate productsGrind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfacesInspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specificationsPrint work orders, check revision levels, and print dispatch listsMove material using a forklift or pallet jackQualifications:Required (Basic):Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
