Job summary

American Hydro in York, PA seeks a Machine Shop Superintendent to lead safety-conscious, high-output machining operations. You will direct supervision, drive continuous improvement, and ensure quality while controlling costs and meeting customer delivery requirements.

You will develop leaders, manage resources, and partner with planning, engineering, and quality teams to optimize productivity and implement Lean practices. This role demands strong leadership and a hands-on, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7-10 years of manufacturing or machining experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, and machining processes.
• Experience leading large production teams in a safety, quality and on time delivery focused manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and daily direction to machine shop personnel.
• Build and maintain a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and performance.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and machinists to enhance capabilities.
• Conduct performance evaluations and establish development plans for employees.
• Manage employee relations issues and resolve workplace conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify succession planning opportunities and develop internal talent pipelines.
• Promote employee engagement through effective communication and recognition programs.
• Direct daily machine shop operations to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
