Job summary

We Make RI in Lincoln, RI, is seeking a Machine Shop Assistant / Shop Helper. The role involves assisting machinists, basic operation, quality checks, and material handling in a fast-paced shop.

Pay ranges from $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, DOE. This position offers on-the-job training, opportunities for advancement, and benefits including health/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, technical schooling a plus.
• bas ic math and blueprint reading required.
• Willingness to learn in a hands-on shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Setup: load materials, deburr parts, operate basic shop equipment.
• Quality Control: use calipers, micrometers, gauges to verify tolerances.
• Material Handling: move materials with pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Tooling & Inventory: organize tooling and maintain supplies.
• Shop Maintenance: clean work areas and perform light maintenance.
• Safety: follow PPE and safety protocols.
