Job summary

GFMCO, LLC in Columbus, GA is seeking a Machine Shop Assistant CNC Operator for 2nd shift to support ductile iron parts. You will operate CNC machines, load/unload material, check tolerances with gauges, and follow safety and quality procedures.

Candidates with 1 year CNC experience preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required; must stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs; reliable transportation provided for commute; training on Fanuc or Mazatrol controllers will be provided.

GFMCO, LLC is currently seeking members to join our Team at our Cordele, GA Plant

Assist in operating computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on ductile iron pieces

Properly load and unload material and parts in CNC machine

Use gauges and measuring equipment to maintain tolerance requirements

Maintain a high quality of workmanship, quantity of work, and cycle time.

Understand and interpret G-code programming

Understand and abide all safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, and instructions

Other tasks assigned by management personnel

Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the company handbook

Clean and maintain work station and surrounding area

Ability to learn the use of general machining tools:

Ability to learn the use of a Fanuc or Mazatrol controller

1 year CNC machining experience; (preferred)

Ability to remain standing for long periods of time

Ability to lift parts up to 50lbs

High sense of urgency and pay close attention to detail

Ability to understand and abide by all safety procedures, quality policies, specifications,and instructions when operating machines

Must have reliable transportation.
