Job summary

Schaeffler is seeking a skilled Inspector/Equipment Operator in Cheraw, SC to set up and program machines, oversee ramp-up, and support maintenance to prevent downtime. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to read blueprints and use measurement tools.

The role requires following procedures, documenting records, and ensuring safety and PPE compliance on the floor. 2+ years in manufacturing and power tool experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to use instruments for measuring and to identify defects.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and write clear communications in English.
• Ability to operate medium-complex machinery for use in inspection.
• Ability to lift medium-heavy objects if required.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and programming of operating machines including accuracy and effectiveness checks in first test sequences.
• Oversee ramp up of machines after setup procedure and support Operators in operating the machines.
• Support maintenance in the repair, prevention of downtime and inspection of machines.
• Follow documented procedures and processes and maintain accurate records and tracking.
• Check finished product/product component and submits for approval.
• Follow all safety and production rules and ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
