Job summary

Textron Aviation is seeking a CNC grinder to work on production aircraft parts. You will operate and adjust CNC grinding equipment, read blueprints and routers, and ensure high-quality surface finishes within tight tolerances.

No prior experience is required beyond a CNC vocational certificate; training with senior machinists is possible. This is a second shift role with a supportive team and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification AND a vocational certificate / diploma related to CNC machining.
• No experience required but must possess the vocational certificate/diploma outlined in education.

Responsibilities

• Setup, adjust and operate CNC grinding machines to perform a wide variety of difficult close tolerance internal and/or external single and multiple grinding operations according to general operation methods.
• Works from blueprints, shop routers, oral and written instructions to achieve high degree surface finish and tolerance requirements for grinding parts.
• Mount and balance grinding wheel.
• Dress grinding wheel manually and automatically.
• Setup and adjust horizontal feeds, speed of part rotation, wheel speed and table travel stops.
• Selects drive dogs, collets and chucks.
• Mounts parts to proper index as required. Adjusts lubricating coolant flow.
• Responsible only for own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Summary:

To grind a wide variety of production aircraft parts using CNC machinery. May be required to work with higher grade Machinists while in training.
