Job summary

Sika seeks an experienced Machine Operator for its Sealy, TX area in the Roofing division. You will work on a PLC-controlled extrusion line across multiple shifts, performing set-up, operation, and cleanup with emphasis on quality and safety.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts, monitoring line parameters, and maintaining compliance with policies. We offer comprehensive benefits and a strong focus on employee development and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production is desirable.
• Ability to read and write English and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to operate forklifts and handle materials safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line
• The operation will include set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components, and the development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields
• Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations.
• Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned.
• Follow all company policies, including environmental policy and notify supervisor of any concern that may affect work area or company property.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production highly desirable
• Ability to read and write English
• Good verbal communications skills
• Understanding of how to use a touch-screen (PLC) production line
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
• Ability and willingness to work overtime if required
• Availability and willingness to cover any shift with prior notification
