Job summary

Michigan City Paper Box Company is seeking a reliable, energetic, and fast-paced individual for a full-time machine operator on the production floor. The role demands standing for long periods and a interest in mechanical work.

Key duties include running two machines, feeding materials, quality checks, documentation, and cleaning. After training, mechanical duties such as changeovers and maintenance will be added. Hourly wage starts at $17.53 with potential increases after training.

Responsibilities

• Run 2 machines that make our product.
• Feed raw materials into machinery.
• Keep machinery operational.
• Perform quality checks - separating waste from good product.
• Document daily production activity.
• Perform routine cleaning.
• Perform change overs and set ups.
• Perform regular maintenance on machinery.
• Support Mechanic Department by performing needed mechanical duties.
• Performing building maintenance including plumbing and electrical needs.

Michigan City Paper Box Company is a family owned business that's been in operation since 1904.

We're looking for reliable, energetic, and fast pace employees able to work on their feet for long periods of time with an interest in performing mechanical duties.

Job Type: Full-time production floor

Shift: 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday (Friday as needed). No nights, no weekends.

Summary of Machine Operating Job Duties:

After successful completion of machine operating training, you will begin mechanical responsibility training.

Summary of Mechanical Duties:

• Perform change overs and set ups
• Perform regular maintenance on machinery
• Support Mechanic Department by performing needed mechanical duties
• Performing building maintenance including plumbing and electrical needs

Hourly Salary: Beginning at $17.53/hr with ability to increase hourly wage when completing mechanical training and responsibilities.
