Job summary

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Machine Operator / Welder to support fabrication shop operations. The role collaborates with teammates to prepare pipe and materials, perform welding in the shop, and maintain safety standards to ensure timely project completion.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years welding experience, with ability to read blueprints. The position is union-represented and based in our Ohio shop.

Qualifications

• 2+ years welding experience required; 2G skill level is expected.
• 2+ years of experience reading/interpreting blueprints and drawings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints/sketches and prepare material accordingly.
• Adjust weld parameters and machine settings to ensure welds conform to specifications.
• Inspect welds for non-conformances and repair or rework as necessary, and alert others if needed.
• Perform daily machine maintenance.
• Inspect pipe for quality issues and ensure end prep is correct.
• Strong math skills are frequently used.

Job Summary

Job Title: Machine Operator / Welder

S.A. Comunale is seeking a Machine Operator / Welder. The Machine Operator / Welder works closely with other fabrication shop employees to prepare pipe and other materials needed to complete each job the company is working on. The Welder will perform all welding functions within the fabrication shop while adhering to all safety measures. Work is expected to be done in a timely and efficient manner. This position is represented by the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #219.

This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast paced multi tasked environment with a focus towards detail and accuracy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Read and interpret blueprints/sketches and prepare material accordingly
• Adjust weld parameters and machine settings to ensure weld(s) conform with all specifications
• Inspect weld(s) for any non-conformances, missing welds, and repair or rework as necessary, also alerting other employees if necessary
• Perform daily machine maintenance
• Inspect pipe for any quality issues and that end prep is correct
• Strong math skills are frequently used
