MACHINE OPERATOR

Summary of Position:We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Machine Operator Trainee. This entry-level position provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in operating and maintaining various types of machinery used in our production process. As a Machine Operator Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training to learn how to efficiently and safely operate machines while ensuring quality control and maintaining production standards.

Accountabilities

  • Operate and monitor machines used in the production process under the supervision of senior operators.
  • Learn and adhere to safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform routine checks on machines and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and making minor adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Monitor product quality and report any defects or issues to the team lead or supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and changing machine parts.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, machine performance, and downtime.
  • Follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for machine operation.
  • Work with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Participate in training sessions to gain a deeper understanding of machine operation and production processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often for several hours at a time.
  • Lifting: Capable of lifting materials or products weighing up to [X] pounds regularly.
  • Bending/Climbing: Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel to access machinery or equipment, as well as climb ladders or steps if required for equipment maintenance or access.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: Must possess good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate machines and make adjustments.
  • Repetitive Motion: The role may require repetitive tasks, such as adjusting machinery or handling materials, so physical endurance is important.
  • Vision: Ability to distinguish fine details and monitor machine output visually to ensure product quality and detect issues.
  • Exposure to Conditions: Exposure to noise, fluctuating temperatures, and potentially hazardous materials (depending on the nature of the products being processed). Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.

Work Environment

  • Fast-Paced: This role requires working in a fast-moving production environment with tight deadlines and high-volume output.
  • Physical Demands: Employees in this role are expected to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 50 pounds regularly. There may also be a need for extended periods of physical activity.
  • Noise and Temperature Variations: The work environment may be noisy, with the sound of machines in operation. Temperature fluctuations may occur, as the environment can range from warm to cool depending on the season and production area.
  • Safety-Focused: Strict adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. You will work with heavy machinery and potentially hazardous materials, so awareness and caution are key.
  • Collaborative Environment: Teamwork is essential, and you will work closely with operators, supervisors, and other trainees in a supportive, learning-oriented atmosphere.
