Job summary

Insteel Industries in Houston seeks a Machine Operator to run and learn production equipment in an industrial setting. You will help ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of steel wire reinforcing products and perform basic machine tasks under supervision.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent, basic arithmetic skills, and the ability to follow simple instructions. Physical stamina for lifting and standing for long periods is expected.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred; training provided.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

• Operate and learn multiple machines and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Practice safe work habits and adhere to PPE guidelines.
• Document production data on tally sheets and computer entries.
• Assist in equipment inspections and maintenance activities.
• Maintain awareness of machine safety and process principles.
• Assist with material handling and basic production tasks.
