Job description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To set up, adjust, maintain, and efficiently operate the Safan Press. Use computerized manufacturing technologies to lead and guide the initial phase of the fabrication process for the Cooling Department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to meet production and customer requirements.
  2. Perform set-up duties on fabrication equipment and safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
  3. Position production materials and tooling, maintaining proper dimensions according to print specifications.
  4. Operate and adjust various equipment, including controllers, and edit programs according to production documentation.
  5. Meet established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  6. Comply with all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or hazards.
  7. Ensure products and systems meet Hoffman quality standards.
  8. Inspect work to ensure proper dimensional requirements per prints.
  9. Perform preventative maintenance procedures and assist with troubleshooting systems.
  10. Take action and notify appropriate resources when problems arise.
  11. Participate actively in continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
  12. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 year of CNC manufacturing equipment experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of production work experience preferred.
  • Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards, Radan, DPA.
  • No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six months of the job posting.
  • No decision-making leaves within 12 months of the job posting.
  • Most recent performance rating of 'achieves' or above.
  • Successfully completed six months in current job classification or career advancement classification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production process.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Fork truck licensed or ability to obtain license.
  • Ability to lift, slide, and handle heavy materials.
  • Ability to read measuring equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adaptability to changing business circumstances.
  • Ability to acquire weld certification (via 2-week training).
  • Ability to complete robotics training.

Benefits:

Pay Transparency: Our pay scale is based on the expected range for this job and location, considering skills, experience, and performance. The range is $14.80 - $27.50 per hour. Eligibility for other compensation forms such as incentives may apply.
