JOB TITLE: Machine Operator Specialist

Shift B1 (Thu-Sat (EOW) 5AM-5:30PM)

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of this job is to support the production of the Rika automated equipment. This job requires accountability for manufacturing procedures and associated documentation for automated manufacturing equipment and processes. This includes material handling functions, inspecting product, testing, assembling, bonding, or welding components or subassemblies together in accordance with assembly drawings and written procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Operate a complex automated process.
    • Assist w/ lot open/close processes, including line clearance.
    • Pick parts from supermarket and efficiently load machines (with lift).
    • Help ensure the proper documentation of raw material batches in the Device History Record (DHR).
    • Operates automated equipment along with associated work cells, including start up and shut down.
    • Conduct product and equipment inspections as required by manufacturing procedures.
    • Read HMIs, troubleshoot (read alarms, find location of failure), resolve basic machine issues.
    • Clean machines and support Category II Preventative Maintenance.
    • Proactively communicates issues related to product quality/efficacy, machine performance, and employee safety.
    • Work overtime to meet business needs.
    • Interface frequently with computer and basic Microsoft office software.
  • Contribute to your team achieving operational and quality excellence.
    • Take ownership of your assigned machine and/or manufacturing process.
    • Possess a continuous improvement and problem solving mindset.
    • Embrace lean manufacturing tools indented to monitor critical metrics and drive continuous improvement.
    • Be accountable for ensuring machines hit target output and efficiency (OEE)
    • Escalate production, quality or safety issues to leadership immediately.
    • Participate crossfuntionally in problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement related to safety, quality, production processes, and raw material issues.
  • Facilitate your team’s goal of delivering high quality supply.
    • Maintain GMP, GDP and quality standards
    • Perform off-line sampling for SPC
    • Inspect, measure, test, record, interpret SPC data and subassembly testing
    • Assists with process verifications after corrective maintenance work orders.
    • Partner with your supervisor to ensure required training is completed on time.
    • Contributes to identification, resolution and sorting of non conforming products and processes.
  • Help foster a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement.
    • Adhere to safety and cleanliness policies, live and maintain the 6S environment
    • Proactively identify safety concerns in your area of responsibility and report to floor leadership.
    • Recommend solutions related to safety concerns and ergonomics.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May assist with covering areas in material handling.
  • May be required to assist leadership with floor coverage and coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience

  • Experience in Process Control (PC) testing and molding/welding quality requirements is preferred.
  • Working knowledge with HMI interactions is preferred.
  • Process knowledge of the Auto Cell and RF work centers is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and maintained competency in all areas required at the assembler level.

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols required for operating automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing operating procedures that apply to technical, automated, and semi-automated operating systems.
  • Require extensive knowledge and understanding of process control activities and functions.
  • Strongteam cooperation and ability to prioritize workload to meet schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.

-Or- An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturing Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.

  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts/racks, up to 1,500 pounds by pallet jack and up to 5,000 pounds by electric pallet jack.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to maintain pace with the area assigned.
  • Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to work under fluorescent lighting.
  • Requires the ability to stand or walk throughout the duration of a shift.
  • Pass hearing acuity and vision test with corrected vision.

Target Pay Range: Pay Range $21.33-$24.51/hr - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0
