Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Stanfield, NC is seeking a Machine Operator - Sortation for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM). The role involves setting up sorting equipment, inspecting parts with blueprints, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area. You will handle forklifts, overhead cranes, and routine preventive maintenance while meeting print parameters.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and basic mechanical knowledge, with good communication skills. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• General mechanical knowledge and ability.
• Drive and operate forklift.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Read and understand blueprints, basic mathematical understanding (add, subtract, divide).
• Communicate effectively, verbal and written.
• Ability to lift 5-40 lbs regularly and 41+ lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine bowls, tracks, lasers, eddy current, cameras and feed systems to sort assemblies to print parameters.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection using blueprints and measurement devices.
• Identify and correct setup, machine, or feed problems.
• Weigh, label, and package sorted product for shipping.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Work overtime as needed.

As a Machine Operator - Sortation you'll be part of our team located in Stanfield, NC . You'll get to:

• Set up machine bowls, tracks, lasers, eddy current, cameras and feed systems to sort assemblies to print parameters.


• Dimensional and visual inspection using blueprints, product data inspection sheets, various measurements devices, overlays or special gauging od all chara cteristics of the part to determine inspection parameters for set up.


• Ability to recognize set up, machine or feed problems and able to correct those problems with computer or mechanical adjustments .


• Weigh, table and label cartons of sorted product for shipping.


• Ability to communicate well .


• Ability to prioritize works and require only moderate supervision .


• Maintain housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and orderly work area.


• Perform routine preventative maintenance as specified for the equipment.


• Ability to work overtime as needed


• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Analytical skills necessary to evaluate and solve die and press problems to run quality parts.


• Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shif t .


• Bending, reaching and climbing occasionally.


• Use of eyes for visual inspection of parts .


• Ability to walk, stand, bend, push, pull and reach.


• Ability to lift and/or carry 5- 40 po unds regularly and occasionally 41 - and over with assistance .
