Job description

NASL is seeking an experienced Lamination Production Operator who will be responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of lamination equipment to produce high-quality laminated materials. This role ensures production runs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. The preferred candidate will have experience in wrapping machine set up and must be able to travel to Wisconsin (company paid) for machine specific training.

At this level, the operator leads machine setup and troubleshooting, ensuring jobs are started on time and meet quality standards. The L3 Operator must be capable of performing all L1 and L2 operator duties and provides guidance and direction to the production team to achieve daily production goals. This position comes with growth opportunities within the branch.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
  • Direct and assist the production team in the setup, operation, and monitoring of lamination machines according to job specifications.
  • Set up machines efficiently to ensure timely job startup and quality output.
  • Load and align rolls of film, foil, paper, or fabric into laminating equipment.
  • Start, stop, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Ensure accurate job tracking and production logging in ERP systems.
  • Train and support other operators in developing skills and advancing qualification levels.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
Quality Assurance
  • Perform in-process inspections to identify defects such as wrinkles, bubbles, or poor adhesion.
  • Measure material thickness, alignment, and bond strength using appropriate tools and gauges.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality control standards.
  • Accurately record production and inspection data.
Material Handling
  • Prepare and stage raw materials to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Maintain proper material supply levels to meet daily production quotas.
  • Package, label, and stage finished goods for the next process or shipment.
  • Minimize scrap and properly handle waste materials.
  • Operate a forklift (if certified) to move materials and support production needs.
Safety & Maintenance
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards).
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and promptly report any issues.
  • Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with lamination or converting equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain NASL training, including Level 3 (L3) requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use basic hand tools.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, work orders, and production schedules.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to train others, share knowledge, and provide direction as needed.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain through company‑provided training.

  • Travel to Wisconsin for training.
Work Environment & Conditions
  • Work is performed on an industrial manufacturing floor with moderate to high noise levels and elevated temperatures.
  • Position may require shift work, overtime, and weekend hours depending on production needs.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling, gripping, and repetitive tasks.
  • Frequent reaching outward and bending motions.
  • Occasional squatting or kneeling.
  • Rare climbing, crawling, or overhead reaching.
  • Ability to push and pull materials frequently.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting techniques.
