Senior Machine Operator (San Diego, CA)
Duration: 3 Months
Shift Type: 1st Shift (6 AM to 2:30 PM PST)
Performs equipment setup, machine operation, replenishment, and parts verification based on IPC standards and practices. Reads and interprets assembly aids and written instructions to determine machining needs, setups, and specifications. Communicates with the team lead to provide feedback on design and documentation and to ensure customer satisfaction.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs equipment setup, machine operation, replenishment, and parts verification based on an understanding of IPC standards and practices.
- Reads and interprets moderately complex assembly aids and written instructions to determine machining needs, setup, and specifications.
- Identifies and solves complex issues and escalates other issues appropriately.
- Communicates with team lead to provide status and information about impending obstacles and recommends solutions.
- Executes individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Adapts to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
Level of Responsibility
- Works under some supervision.
- Responsible for own work; decision‑making is limited and errors typically only impact timeline.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
- Tasks require multiple steps with some planning and prioritization; mistakes may result in rework.
- Some creativity may be required to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.
- Deductive problem solving is required to solve moderately complex problems; limited data analysis may be needed.

Education Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of work experience operating surface‑mount placement equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC certification.
- 1+ year of work experience operating Siemens and/or AOI equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 25 lbs.
