Job summary

Plymouth Tube is seeking a manufacturing operator to tend machines and support setup, inspection, and quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires reading specifications, basic math, and reliable teamwork. You will assist with maintenance, follow safety policies, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor in Salisbury, MD.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add/subtract/multiply/divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

POSITION SUMMARY

Tends machines such as saws, draw benches, spinning machines, vapor de-greasers and furnaces that cut, stretch, shape, anneal and clean tubes by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
• Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
• Communicate to management and peers regarding quality, preventative maintenance, customer focus and equipment issues, concerns and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives and support a flexible team environment that best suits all PTC initiatives.
• Assist with identifying and implementing process improvement.
• Follow work instructions and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent, previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
