Job summary

Kerry is seeking a Runner Operator at our Rochester, MN site within the Applied Health and Nutrition Division. You will operate equipment, support wet blending, packaging, fermentation, and other areas as assigned, while training others and ensuring safe, efficient production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for those with 2+ years in food production and ability to learn Fermentation, Wet Blending, Liquid Receiving, and Spray Drying within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience in food production are preferred but not required.
• Ability to train quickly in Fermentation, Wet Blending, Liquid Receiving and Spray Drying positions.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in Liquid Packaging, Fermentation, Wet Blending and related areas.
• Provide support and relief to other operators; follow set procedures for QC and yields.
• Train new joiners and assist team leaders in onboarding.

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $21.00 to $34.00 per hour.

What You'll Do

The Runner Operator is responsible for operating equipment and performing diverse job functions on a routine basis.

Provides support to wet blending, packaging, liquid receiving, fermentation, and other job areas as assigned. Trains production operators in new and existing practices. Recommends changes to achieve improved efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• 1. Performs tasks for Liquid Packaging, Fermentation, Wet Blending, Liquid Receiving, Spray Drying, Powder Packaging, and other areas as assigned. Provides support and relieves relief operators.
• 2. Trains production operators in new and existing practices.
• 3. Assists team leaders in orientation and development of new joiners.
• 4. Floats to other positions and may occasionally work in a number of roles in any given shift.
• 5. Operates computer systems including FIX operator interface, Inelex, SAP, and Excel; tracks and records historical trends, and selects recipes, cycles, and chemicals using electronic media.
• 6. Follow established procedures and run setpoints to achieve QC approved products with optimal yields at lowest costs. Recommends changes to achieve improved efficiency.
• 7. Washes and cleans equipment per the sanitation manual. Follows GMP program and rules.
• 8. Operates forklift and aerial lifts.
• 9. Assist other production operators as time/shift allows.
• 10. May be certified as a forklift trainer.

What you'll need to be successful and safe

EDUCATION High school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE None required. Hiring preference will be given to candidates with two or more years' experience in food production environments and/or experience in key departments. Must have ability to be fully trained in Fermentation, Wet Blending, Liquid Receiving and Spray Drying positions within one year.

SKILLS Must have the ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel. Capable of working through complex problems alone or with others to provide logical solutions.
