Responsibilities

  • Read and verify work orders for lamination type and length.
  • Set up and operate laminating machine.
  • Ensure laminated loads meet bindery requirements.
  • Inspect for quality defects and ensure standards.
  • Follow the daily running order from Scheduling Team.
  • Communicate with Supervisor and Scheduling Team.
  • Assist maintenance with machine repairs.
  • Cross-train in other areas as needed.
  • Perform end-of-shift duties and keep area safe and clean.

Job Summary:

Setup, operation, and maintenance of the laminating and UV Coater Equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand work order verifying correct lamination type and run lengths.
  • Learn to interpret the information on the work order and its contents.
  • Set up and run the laminating machine.
  • Ensure laminated loads conform to bindery needs including proper identification.
  • Inspect for quality defects ensuring quality standards are achieved.
  • Follow daily running order provided by Scheduling Team.
  • Communicate with Supervisor and Scheduling Team as needed.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with machine repair.
  • Exercise initiative, ask questions and look for ways of improving productivity.
  • Adequately communicate with oncoming shift.
  • Perform end of shift duties leaving area ready for oncoming shift.
  • Keep area safe and clean.
  • Cross train in other areas as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Six months of manufacturing or related experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, 20lbs constantly
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 lbs. in all directions
  • Constantly be able to work in the work activities
    • Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
    • Communicating with others to exchange information
    • Operating machine and/or power tools
    • Work in noisy environments
  • Occasionally be able to do the listed activities
    • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like
    • Moving self in different position to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces
    • Remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
    • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
    • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
    • Work in high temperatures, small and/or enclosed spaces
