Job Summary

The Machine Operator performs set-ups, makes minor adjustments, and operates packaging equipment. Identifies acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements. Performs wash and changeover of equipment. Machine Operators need to be reliable and able to work with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs accurate set-ups on equipment for specific product runs.
• Operates and adjusts equipment to ensure correct operation and quality standards.
• Inspects and tests packages, documents results to ensure quality compliance.
• Prepares materials for quick and accurate changeovers.
• Completes all required documentation.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP or willingness to learn.
• Sufficient math skills for material calculations.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle small tools.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
• Reading and writing in English preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
• Work may be in warm or refrigerated environments depending on location.
• Team-oriented with respectful communication.
• Ability to stand up to 80% of scheduled time.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and 40-75 lbs. with assistance.
• Willingness to work overtime and across shifts as needed.
