Job summary

Foster Farms is hiring for a production machine operator in Washington. You will set up and run processing machines, monitor flow, and report any issues to maintenance. The role requires lifting up to 80 lbs, standing long shifts, and adapting to swing/night hours.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use mechanical tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a wet and cool environment with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated dependability with regard to safety and attendance.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50–80 lbs.
  • Must stand 8–12 hours on a concrete/metal grate floor.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines prior to shift start-up and adjust as needed for production type.
  • Attend to and adjust machines during operation to maintain smooth product flow.
  • Monitor machines for mis-cuts due to improper settings and correct as needed.
  • Notify Maintenance Supervision of any malfunctions or repairs.
  • Maintain housekeeping and assist other plant personnel as needed.
  • Assist maintenance in repairs and overhauls.
  • Operate and adjust various lines and equipment with required changes.
  • Support other areas of the plant and ensure safety and sanitation standards.

Pay rate $19.00with Attendance Premium of $0.25 and Shift Premiums of $.50 and $1.00 for hours worked during swing and night shifts. Longevity premium of $0.25 after one year of service.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Set up machines prior to shift start-up, attend to the operation of these machines, and adjust as necessary for changes due to production type.
  • Attend to and adjust machines during operation to ensure product flow through the machines.
  • Monitor machines for any mis-cuts of product due to improper settings.
  • Notify Maintenance Supervision of any machine malfunctions or required repairs.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and assist other plant personnel in various areas of the plant as needed.
  • Assist maintenance in repairs and overhauls.
  • 90% - Attend to the operation of machines and equipment (e.g. leg processors, wrappers, CFS, PACMAC, STORK lines and DAYPAC) making required changes, adjustments and notifications as needed.
  • 10% - additional functions to include assisting in other areas of the plant as required. Maintain safety, housekeeping, sanitation, and disease control requirements while performing job duties.
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude, understanding, and ability to use mechanical type tools, such as wrenches and screw drivers.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a wet and cool environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a demonstrated history of dependability, particularly with regard tosafety and attendance.
  • Must be physically capable to perform job duties including, but not limited to lifting film rolls and containers weighting 50-80 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (8-12 hours) on a concrete/metal grate floor.
  • Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, hand motion, and twisting.
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts, overtime, non-standard work hours.
