Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to operate a range of shop machines including angle line, beveller, saw, laser cutter, welding equipment, press brakes and lathe.

You will set up tooling, follow safety and quality rules, read simple blueprints, and support continuous improvement while meeting production deadlines. Candidates should have a High School Diploma (preferred), basic measuring skills, and able to communicate in English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.
• Read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Use a variety of hand tools (hammer, pliers, screwdriver, etc.).
• Use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer).
• Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
• Convert metric to English.
• Provide high quality work for internal and external customers.
• Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.

Position Summary

The Machine Operator may operate a variety of machines in the shop including angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press or machine, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Set‑up and operate machines including adjustment and/or replacement of expendable tooling, guides, jigs and fixtures.
• Operate an angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press or machine, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.
• Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer.
• Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
• Ability to convert metric to English.
• Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
• Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
• Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.
