Description

Position Summary

As the Machine Operator, you will load/unload material into the robotic welder for the purpose of fabrication of steel products. You will operate the robotic welder, measure and check quality of welded parts to assure they are to spec and print.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Performs basic machine maintenance.
  • Updates inventory, punching in and out of jobs on ERP system.
  • Welds parts to print on robotic welder.
  • Grinds and cleans parts to quality specifications.
  • Measures and checks quality of welded parts to assure they are to spec and print.
  • Completes necessary paperwork.
  • Clean machine and work area.
  • Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
  • Work under direct supervision.
  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift

1st Shift - Voluntary overtime opportunity on Fridays when applicable or when mandated.

  • Monday - 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Tuesday - 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday - 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Thursday - 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Friday - As Needed

Skills And Qualifications

  • Simple problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative to take project from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints preferred.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
  • Ability to bend, stand, twist, and stoop for prolonged periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Subject to environmental conditions that occur within a fabrication shop condition including exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and vibration from use of equipment and the following:
  • Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin-fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
