Job summary

Pregis is hiring an Assistant Operator in Plymouth, IN. You will assist the Operator in setting up and running production lines, perform quality checks, and support maintenance tasks to keep lines running smoothly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and measurement skills, and forklift/ERP familiarity are a plus. This is a 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour rotating shift with weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and document quality data.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operator in setting up and running production lines to meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Help assist the Operator during line changes and die changes as needed.
• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to stage materials and supplies.
• Perform quality checks including length/width, vacuum tests, and micrometer readings.
• Help minimize scrap and maximize material recovery.
• Support minor maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Collaborate with team members across shifts for smooth transitions.
• Assist with troubleshooting and support the Maintenance Team when needed.

Assistant Operator

Location: Plymouth, IN

Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Includes Rotating Weekends

What You’ll Do

• Assist the Operator in setting up and running production lines to meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Help assist the Operator during die changes.

What You Bring

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and document quality data.
• Forklift and industrial vehicle operation experience.
• Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow standardized work instructions.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Work Environment

• Indoor manufacturing facility (non-airconditioned)
• Heat may exceed 90°F, humidity over 80%, and noise levels above 85 dB
• Exposure to moving equipment and machinery

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders, knees, and other joints
• Occasional stair and ladder climbing
