Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator for construction operations. You will read specifications, adjust machinery, and ensure products meet quality standards while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities include machine setup, monitoring for defects, performing routine maintenance, and maintaining a clean work area. Individuals must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule in a field-leading outdoor living products company.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain accuracy across tasks and adapt to flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Review product quality to ensure conformance with requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators with setup and tasks to meet deadlines.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring the product meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion in assigned area
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent; or at least 1 month of related experience in trades specific to job requirements; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
• Ability to stand for multiple hours at a time
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs .
