Job summary

Fox Factory in Coldwater, MI is seeking a night-shift machinist to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts and assemble units using lathes, mills, shapers and grinders. The role runs Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, with pay $19–$21.50 plus $2.00/hr shift premium.

You will verify conformance to specs, read blueprints, plan stock, and document production logs, ensuring safety and quality at all times.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• 1+ years machinist experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with metalworking machines and NC tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies conformance of processes or work pieces to specifications.
• Assesses specifications, blueprints, sketches to determine machine settings.
• Checks materials prior to processing to assure they meet specifications.
• Plans stock inventory and expedites orders for stock.
• Sets up and operates metalworking machine tools, such as a lathe, milling machine, shaper, or grinder, to machine parts to specifications.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
• Verifies dimensions with measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Position Summary

Fabricates complex metallic and nonmetallic parts, and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques, operating conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers.

Position Responsibilities

Position Qualifications

Experience

1+ years of prior machinist experience preferred
