Job summary

Marmon Utility is hiring a Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role maintains production, quality, and safety standards while minimizing downtime and waste.

We offer paid on-the-job training, multiple shift options (Days, Nights, Weekend), and built-in overtime with competitive pay. All positions are onsite in Seymour, CT, Full-time.

Qualifications

• No prior machine operation experience required; we provide paid on-the-job training for all new employees.
• Candidates with experience as a Machine Operator, Extrusion Operator, Production Operator, Manufacturing Operator, or Equipment Operator are encouraged to apply (higher pay dependent on experience).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections to ensure product quality and workplace safety.
• Operate production equipment according to established procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ability to safely handle reels, spools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.

Multiple Shift Options Available (Availability on each shift is subject to change)

• Crew 1 - Days: $20.00-$25.00 hourly
  Monday-Thursday | 7:00am - 7:00pm
  8 hours of guaranteed overtime each week
• Crew 2 - Nights : $20.00 - $25.00 hourly
  Monday - Thursday | 7:00pm-7:00am
  Plus $3.00/hr shift differential
  8 hours of guaranteed overtime each week
• Weekend Day Crew: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly
  Friday - Sunday | 7:00am - 7:00pm
  Work 36 hours per week and get paid for 52 hours per week
• Weekend Night Crew: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly
  Friday - Sunday | 7:00pm-7:00am
  Plus $3.00/hr shift differential
  Work 36 hours per week and get paid for 52 hours per week

Starting rate varies depending on available positions

Safety & Physical Requirements:

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Work safely around manufacturing equipment and moving machinery
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
