Job summary

PADNOS in Roseville, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator to join our metals-focused team. You will operate balers and related equipment to bale metals, adhering to safety and quality standards in a loud, temp-variable plant environment.

We value hands-on problem solving, reliability, and teamwork. The role offers steady evenings (Mon-Fri, 5pm-3am), PPE provided, and opportunities to learn, grow, and advance within our sustainable recycling company.

Qualifications

• Six months operating small equipment experience required (hi-lo, loader, forklift, scissor lift).
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc).
• Loader operator experience preferred.
• Hi-Lo experience required.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper to load, unload, grade, inspect materials.
• Troubleshoot and report malfunctions; perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Distinguish between material grades using tests and comply with company standards.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain equipment in good condition.

Environment for Manufacturing Machine Operator:

This position is in our Roseville location focused on metals. The manufacturing machine operator will be working with multiple balers to bale metals. It is often loud instead the plant due to machinery. PPE is required such as hard hat, safety glasses, high vis, steel toed shoes, and gloves when needed. This role is inside all day in a plant that is hard to regulate the temperature (it can be hot or cold depending on weather outside).

• Monday - Friday 5pm - 3am

Manufacturing Machine Operator / Equipment Operator Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating equipment such as hi-lo, loader, forklift, sweeper and/or small loader to assist in loading, unloading, grading, inspecting, buying and transportation of materials.

Mechanical and problem-solving experience is required as the machines do break down, and it is helpful to do what we can without calling maintenance.

• Distinguish between numerous grades and types of materials using basic identification tests according to company standards
• Perform required bore, during and after-operation user maintenance
• Monitor equipment, troubleshoot and/or notify management of any malfunctions that occur
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
• Prepare various documents and reports
• Troubleshoot and mechanical diagnosis to identify repair needs such as motors, gearboxes, augers, pulleys, conveyors, and more.
• Prepare and complete required paperwork

Manufacturing Machine Operator / Equipment Operator Qualifications:

• Six months operating small equipment experience required (hilo, loader, forklift, scissor lift)
• Equipment operation and preventative maintenance/mechanical knowledge (conveyors, pulleys, etc)
• Loader operator experience preferred
• Hilo experience required
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Accuracy in operationand attention to detail
