Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator/Inside Material Handler (6am-2pm) to support production of steel wire reinforcing products. Training will cover operating various machines and learning related manufacturing processes.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent and basic math skills; familiarity with simple tools is a plus. The role requires safety awareness and ability to work in a team, with opportunities for bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic operations including fractions and decimals.
• Equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits individually and with teammates.

• Adhere to PPE guidelines.
• Know and follow machine safety procedures.
• Understand basic mechanical processes and equipment function principles.
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.

• Understand basic math and measurement concepts (length, diameter, weights, counts).
• Support other operators and areas as needed.
