Position Summary: Operates one plant machinery as directed and specified while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

General Purpose

To efficiently operate one machine at standard efficiency levels in order to fulfill daily production requirements.

Position Responsibilities

• Read and perform authorized LOTO as outlined for the machine.
• Operate machinery in a safe manner.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Communicate daily with Team Leader or Shift Supervisor on any changes or issues that may impact quality or machine efficiency.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects, machine malfunction, and waste.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, ensuring it meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Ensure product specifications, HACCP, label verification, and other quality measures are in compliance.
• Note any machine deficiencies, cases per hour, and other parameters on the communication board.
• Communicate with the oncoming Machine Operator.
• Assist other operators in setting up machines and completing tasks to adhere to deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping, environmental, and GMP standards.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to identify colors.
