MACHINE (SAW) OPERATOR

Job Description

FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Location: Sedalia, MO

Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for running the Saw.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Saw operators in this position setup, operate and adjust various types of power saws to cut parts and material to specified lengths and dimensions.
• Experienced operating the Horizontal Manual/Automated Feed and Clamp Saw.
• Must be able to read measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Operate Overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Push pull and lift up to 50 lbs+.
• Basic hand tools usage knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Abide by all safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent attendance.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating metal fabrication equipment.
• Understanding and reading of blueprints a must.
• Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work well with team members.
• Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in a manufacturing
• Previous work experience in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing vision protection, steel-toed shoes/boots and other appropriate protective clothing.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work around common office equipment, supplies and environments.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
