Job summary

Mars Petcare in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Operator 2 for the day shift to operate equipment, perform changeovers, and ensure product quality and food safety in a busy manufacturing plant.

You will work with GMP/HACCP standards, assist with basic maintenance, load materials, manage inventory, and provide informal leadership to temporary associates, with a competitive benefits package and annual bonus potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year pet food and/or food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently without supervision as well as within a team setting.
• Effective analytical, troubleshooting, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to complete the conversion process and package the finished product prior to shipping to customers.
• Conduct problem-solving and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Load packaged material, clear jams, reset faults, conduct changeovers, perform quality checks, report issues, and maintain area GMPs.
• Complete basic preventative maintenance work as assigned (CILs).
• Ensure quality and food safety procedural conformance.
• Wear required PPE and report safety hazards immediately.
• Communicate accurate and timely information using computer technology.
• Work in a self-directed manner with a positive attitude; be reliable, conscientious, and punctual.
• Conduct sanitation activities as required.
• Manage inventory throughout the production process.
• Provide informal leadership to temporary associates throughout production.

Mar Petcare is looking for a Operator 2 to join our exciting Nutro business at one of our manufacturing plants located in Kansas City, Mo.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

• Required
