Job summary

Fair Oaks Foods is seeking a Production Machine Operator to safely control a variety of meat processing machines and equipment. You will follow GMPs, HACCP, and company policies to ensure quality and safety throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include preparing and assembling equipment, performing sanitation, maintaining production logs, and assisting in problem-solving under supervision. Strong attention to safety and ability to read instructions are essential.

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts and make adjustments to the machine accordingly.

  • Attend to the current needs of the process by responding immediately to the expressed orders of the Production Supervisor and/or Production Foreman.
  • Responsible for the quality of work performed and for identifying and documenting quality problems for corrective action and prevention of non-conforming products.

Position Summary

The Production Machine Operator will safely control various machines and equipment involved in production.

Machine Operator Level 1

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Department Operations

Reports to Title Production Supervisor

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to production operations by following policies and procedures for meat processing; Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations, etc.
  • Contribute to a safe and sanitary work environment by complying with established procedures and rules.
  • Prepare and assemble meat-processing equipment for operation. Disassemble and prepare meat-processing equipment for sanitation washing.
  • Document the production process by maintaining production logs.
  • Contribute to production operations by solving process problems, making equipment adjustments, reporting production and quality data, recording decisions, and referring problems to the Production Supervisor.
  • Attend to the current needs of the process by responding immediately to the expressed orders of the Production Supervisor and/or Production Foreman.
  • Responsible for the quality of work performed and for identifying and documenting quality problems for corrective action and prevention of non-conforming products.
Level One Qualifications

Level Two Qualifications
  • Intermediate SAP proficiency
  • Loading and unloading of trailers
  • Identify and complete incoming damages report, including photos
  • Verify exports are loaded and verify proper documentation
Level Three Qualifications
  • Ability to co‑down‑stock in geezer, including down stocking meat slots and verifying physical counts
  • Adherence to FIFO standards and rotations
  • Expert SAP proficiency
  • Knowledge of grinding department requirements
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, and willingness to enforce SOP
  • Identify and complete incoming damages report, including photos
  • Verify exports are loaded and verify proper documentation
  • Train and lead lower-level forklift operators

  • Standard of 8 hours shifts and longer as the company requires
  • Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
  • Lifting / Carrying a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Use both hands, as necessary

Observes safety and security procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Material Safety Data (MSD) sheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), LOTO as trained and certified, Emergency Evacuations, and Building Security; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and injuries: near miss/incidents/accidents timely; Uses and cares for company equipment and materials properly.
