Job Overview
The Production Machine Operator will safely operate various machines and equipment involved in production processes.
Position Details
- Job Title: Machine Operator
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- Department: Operations
- Reports to: Production Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Follow policies and procedures for meat processing, including GMPs and HACCP regulations.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to established procedures and rules.
- Prepare, assemble, disassemble, and sanitize meat-processing equipment.
- Maintain production logs to document the process.
- Resolve process issues, make equipment adjustments, report data, and escalate problems as needed.
- Respond promptly to the directives of supervisors or foremen.
- Ensure work quality and document any quality issues for corrective actions.
Qualifications
Level One
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation.
- Quick learner of production equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Ability to perform calculations and machine adjustments.
Level Two
- Intermediate SAP skills.
- Loading/unloading trailers and damage reporting.
- Verifying exports and documentation.
Level Three
- Advanced SAP proficiency.
- Stock management, FIFO adherence, and team leadership.
- Knowledge of grinding department requirements.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Employees must stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs., and perform other physical tasks during 8-hour shifts or longer. Safety procedures must be followed at all times.
