RESUMEN GENERAL (SUMMARY):

Assist automatic and/or semi-automatic machinery in Gamma sterilization processes, making adjustments and repairs as necessary to maintain calibration, optimal performance, and productivity.

TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES (DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES):

• Operate automatic and/or semi-automatic machinery of the Irradiator and dosimeter reading equipment, ensuring proper functioning within established parameters, procedures, specifications, and safety/environmental regulations.
• Monitor sterilization processes and control panels, making adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Report machine or equipment issues that could affect operation and correct them appropriately.
• Supply materials to assigned machines, inspect, pack, and document materials following plant procedures.
• Coordinate and monitor material usage within department areas.
• Perform weekly and preparatory maintenance as indicated by the RSO (Radiator Safety Officer).
• Record dosimeter readings and verify product compatibility for daily logs to ensure continuous workflow.
• In the operator's absence, this task will be the primary responsibility during the shift.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and machinery upkeep.
• Conduct preventive maintenance following SOPs and maintain tools and inventory of parts.
• Participate with Automation, Process Engineering, and Quality departments in process analysis for improvement opportunities, including attending meetings and documenting findings.
• Maintain production records, downtime, setup times, and other indicators for productivity monitoring and trend analysis.
• Inspect materials and products to detect defects before use or release.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, actively participating in safety initiatives like 6's.
• Report hazards, incidents, risks, and opportunities via I Care Card.
• Cover breaks for Irradiator Operators as required.
• This list is not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned by supervisors based on departmental needs.

DEMANDA FISICA (PHYSICAL DEMANDS):

Medium work: Occasionally exerting 20-50 lbs., frequently 10-25 lbs., and constantly handling objects over 10 lbs. for lifting, loading, pushing, pulling, and moving objects. These physical demands exceed those of light work.

EDUCACIÓN Y/O EXPERIENCIA (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE):

Associate degree or equivalent in mechanics, electronics, die-making, or related fields, with 2-4 years of experience in mechanical, electronic, die-making, or related activities involving automated or semi-automated equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.).

BACKGROUND CHECK REGULATORIO:

This position involves access to critical controls of a high-radiation nuclear source regulated by the NRC, requiring a thorough background investigation.

CUALIFICACIONES (QUALIFICATIONS):

Ability to prioritize tasks, analyze malfunctions, identify causes, and implement solutions. Recognize process deviations, halt machinery if necessary, and seek help for corrections. Willingness to work other shifts and overtime as required. Follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Employee will be evaluated for advancement based on performance and knowledge.

IDIOMA (LANGUAGE):

Proficiency in English and Spanish communication skills.
