Position: Machine Operator - Food Industry

Starting at: $19 - $21/hour

Schedule: 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

Potential for additional hours including weekends

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio 45246

As a Food Production Machine Operator, you'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery to ensure top-notch production. Your role is pivotal in maintaining efficiency, quality, and safety standards while leading the charge toward meeting our production goals daily.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all functions associated with the start-up, shutdown, lockout, sanitation, and operation of the packaging and/or process equipment to produce products safely, with high quality & meeting or exceeding cost targets.
  • Maintain safety standards and good manufacturing practices with emphasis on quality & food safety. Maintain & clean machinery according to SSOPs.
  • Monitor and maintain product & packaging quality, conduct tests, and record results. Perform quality control testing and monitor metal detector CCP in accordance with HACCP programs.
  • Operate and monitor process and/or packaging equipment to maintain product flow, adjusting machine settings as needed.
  • Operate automated equipment including touchscreens, sensors, controllers, and motors. Adjust controls to maintain product specifications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory traceability, manage materials, and load/unload machines.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, clean, and maintain equipment and workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry, production, and technical documents in English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of production procedures and equipment.
  • High safety standards and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments focusing on quality and safety.
  • Effective communication in English.
  • Basic math skills and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
  • Prior equipment operation experience.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical skills and 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and food manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments including cold and hot areas.
  • Ability to communicate, observe details, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, squat, and perform tasks in confined spaces.
  • Use PPE as required and maintain GMP standards.
