Job Description SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing product inspections to determine conformance with specifications and packaging these products according to customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times and immediately report unsafe working conditions or mechanical safety problems to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Understand the product line.
  • Know the function of the product and any potential product defects that can adversely affect the function or application of the product.
  • Perform production verifications at the start of an order and each shift.
  • Perform the required visual inspections at the beginning of each shift and at the interval specified in the data acquisition software.
  • Immediately notify the Manufacturing Coordinator if any defects are found.
  • Utilize the data acquisition software to determine which gauging (if necessary) must be performed during the production run to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Keep accurate documentation in the data acquisition software during the production run.
  • Inspect parts on the conveyor belts and in product containers throughout the shift; perform liner inspections as required.
  • Assist the Material Technician in keeping the WIP hoppers supplied with parts.
  • If applicable, periodically check the glue tank level to ensure a proper supply of glue is available to the machine.
  • Properly package and handle the production per the assigned manufacturing specification.
  • Accurately record scrap and place the scrap in the proper containers.
  • Assist in the performance of machine startups and shutdowns and line clearances to keep machine downtime to a minimum.
  • Keep the workstation clean and neat at all times by utilizing good housekeeping practices.
  • Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
