Job summary

Amcor is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to load and unload shipments, maintain accurate inventory, and complete shipping/receiving paperwork. The role requires a GED or high school diploma and a Forklift Operator Certificate, with at least one year of related experience or training.

Candidates will use the DC Links system for inventory tasks and must follow GMP/ISO/SQF and FDA requirements, as well as plant safety rules. Strong reading skills and physical capability are essential.

  • Requires Forklift Operator Certificate (internal training).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load/unload shipments.
  • Complete paperwork for shipping/receiving.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records with DC Links and physical inventories.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Perform daily forklift maintenance checks.
  • Follow plant safety rules and GMP/ISO/SQF/FDA requirements.

Job Description Summary

The following details are the expectations of a forklift operator. Transport, load and unload product for shipment Pass a written driving test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload shipments of product
  • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with the shipping and receiving of product
  • Assist in the maintaining of accurate inventory records by means of physical inventories and use of the "DC Links"
  • Assist other departments when an operator is needed
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts
  • Follow all Plant Safety rules
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, SQF and FDA requirements

Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires Forklift Operator Certificate (Landis Plastics internal training).

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
