Job description

Job Summary:

The CMFB/FBC operator is a skilled position involving CNC and vision systems. The operator is responsible for setup, minor mechanical adjustments, and operation of equipment in their assigned area, ensuring quality production and adherence to processes.

The operator assists the Manager, Supervisor, and Shift Lead with production setup and monitoring to meet daily KPI targets.

Job Duties:
  1. Verify setup and correct machine parameters at the start of each shift, making adjustments as needed.
  2. Open and modify vision files (ATS & Bump inspection) and CNC files to process assigned products.
  3. Adjust machine parameters as required.
  4. Monitor machines during operation for optimal performance.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, collaborating with the Machine Lead.
  6. Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  7. Conduct safety checks and quality audits.
  8. Manage output quality through periodic checks.
  9. Maintain stock of consumables.
  10. Create and update activity logs.
  11. Report progress to supervisors/lead hands.
  12. Perform any other duties as needed, including operating machines when required.
Accountabilities:
  1. Report to and receive direction from the Shift Lead.
  2. Assist in machine setup and quality assurance during production.
  3. Conduct quality tests and calibration inspections.
  4. Ensure the use of correct vision and CNC files and system activation during production.
  5. Work towards departmental goals and comply with safety and environmental standards.
Job Specifications:
  • Exposure to shop noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate mechanical machinery.
  • Physically capable of bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to monitor high-speed production for extended periods.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • CNC experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with department equipment.
  • Good attendance and safety awareness.
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
  • Independent work capability and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of quality procedures and basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of vision system factors (pixels, lighting, masking, filters).
