Position: Inserting Operator
Reports to: Insert Operations Manager
Department: Inserting
Classification: Overtime Eligible

Job Summary

Produces inserted materials according to Standard Work Processes, ensuring quality, output, and efficiency goals are met.

Responsibilities
  • Follow Standard Work procedures
  • Prepare, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot inserting machines
  • Complete QC procedures, logs, paperwork, checklists, and computer functions (MRDF, DCS, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Operator to ensure proper processing of finished materials
  • Understand machine capabilities to achieve optimal print quality
  • Maintain workflow efficiency by evaluating production processes
  • Perform preventative maintenance, proper job setup, routine inserting procedures, and inspections
  • Make necessary adjustments promptly to minimize rework and downtime
  • Coordinate with other departments (Pressroom, Mail Dispatch, Warehouse, Shipping, Technicians)
  • Ensure safety and OSHA standards are upheld
  • Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards, and promote continuous improvement
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
  • Comply with all security and compliance policies
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; vocational or technical certification preferred
  • Experience with high-volume inserting machines (e.g., Pitney Bowes, Bell and Howell) preferred
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Basic computer skills, understanding workflows, and job tickets
  • Attention to detail, positive attitude, teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of inserting machine operation, setup, and safety protocols is a plus
Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long hours, lift up to 30 lbs., and communicate effectively. Reasonable accommodations available.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
