Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Hartselle is seeking a Machine Operator II to join the team on the third shift (10pm–6am, Mon–Fri). The role pays $21.58 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential, with safe, efficient production of lumber from raw material to finished product.

We are looking for candidates with at least 1 year of machine operating experience, strong tool usage skills, and the ability to read manufacturing instructions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment.
• Extensive knowledge of personal hand tools and safe use to operate, adjust, and maintain production equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment to process lumber from raw material to finished product.
• Make incremental process adjustments and report product quality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; follow Sonoco safety policies.
• Perform duties designated by supervisor/manager and support other departments as needed.
• Read and understand manufacturing instructions; work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
