Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for an Injection Operator based in Cartersville, GA. This position is for night shift working from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating 2-2-3 shift.

The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic injection molding machines, making necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of preforms are made in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner.

Primary Duties of an Operator include:

1. Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
2. Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and related activities as assigned.
3. Operate a group of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce containers safely and with high quality.
4. Perform and/or assist in mold, insert, and color changes on the line.
5. Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
6. Perform tasks and responsibilities of any Utility position during slow periods or as needed.
7. Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryer, material handling, and color systems for proper processing conditions.
8. Make frequent, on-time quality checks on products based on established standards.
9. Assist other operators and maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs.
10. Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
11. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
12. Complete and file all required documentation in an organized and timely manner.
13. Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor and Injection Manager to support production objectives.
14. Verify material usage according to standards.
15. Perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line, and notify leads and supervisors of major issues.
16. Operate equipment to minimize generation and maximize consumption of regrind, purge, and scrap within customer specifications where applicable.
17. Properly identify regrind and chunk produced.
18. Communicate processing information to incoming shift personnel.
