MACHINE OPERATOR II

Position Summary:

Golden Boy Foods, part of the 8th Avenue Food and Provisions Family, is a leading manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of private label food products. We supply peanut butter to major grocery retailers, top food service distributors, and industrial bakeries across North America. Our Fitzgerald, GA location has an opening for an Operator II. The ideal candidate will maintain good attendance and meet production standards while operating manufacturing equipment in a food manufacturing environment, with a focus on health, safety, and food safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check equipment and work area before startup to ensure safety and sanitation conditions.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment for sanitation.
• Set up and adjust equipment for production runs.
• Adjust equipment based on line speed to meet specifications and perform periodic product checks.
• Perform quality checks as assigned on the production line.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper flow of packaging and raw materials.
• Maintain and rotate inventory for proper FIFO management.
• Maintain records and compile reports related to production and quality.
• Assist with and perform changeovers and adjustments on machines within the area of responsibility.
• Read and interpret packaging specifications, schedules, pallet configurations, code date formats, and customer specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to perform basic math operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Availability to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in food manufacturing.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in hot, humid, and cold environments.
• Bend and crawl for 7+ hours per shift.
• Climb ladders and stairs for 4+ hours per shift.
• Stand, walk, reach, and grasp for 6+ hours per shift.
