Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and operate roll forming mill to produce linear energetic products per drawings and specs.
• Operate wire sheath extrusion machines.
• Load, reduce, and fabricate linear energetic product per Manufacturing Instructions.
• Use machinery and tooling to fabricate parts.
• Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil and pack product.
• Maintain quality and safety checks on equipment.
• Support engineering in developing new manufacturing procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Job Description

Machine Operator II is an important member of the team that builds our products. This position produces high quality linear energetic product in accordance with specific engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. Machine Operator II is responsible for safety, quality and delivery of products for our Aerospace and Defense markets. This role will report to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location on flex shift.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for set up, configuration, and operation of roll forming mill to form linear energetic products in accordance with documented specifications
• Operate wire sheath extrusion machines
• Operate machines that load and reduce linear energetic product in accordance with specifications
• Perform fabrication of linear energetic product as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using machinery and tooling
• Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil and pack product
• Maintain quality and accuracy requirements
• Perform all safety and quality checks on the equipment
• Work with engineering team to develop new manufacturing procedures for linear energetic products
• Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment

Requirements

• Certificate or greater in machining related field, or prior machine setup and/or metal working machine experience (1 year), or roll forming operator experience (1 year)
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions in English
• Must be able to pass company administered competency test
• Demonstrate capability to use basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometer, etc.)
• Demonstrate capability to read and understand engineering drawings (preferred)
• Experience using Optical Comparators/Shadowgraphs (preferred)
• Background using 5S/lean manufacturing principles (preferred)
