Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a 2nd shift Manufacturing Operator to operate and monitor production equipment for high-quality medical devices. The role requires adherence to procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

The position involves 4 days per week onsite, with a 3:30 PM–2:00 AM schedule, and collaboration with engineers and quality personnel to meet manufacturing goals. The role emphasizes routine inspections, data entry, and accurate production recording, supporting a culture of growth

Qualifications

• Industry-standard machine operation and maintenance skills are required.
• Familiarity with measurement gauges, calipers, and inspection tools is desired.
• Ability to follow SOPs, instructions, and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate bench-top and floor-type manufacturing equipment per SOPs.
• Follow work instructions and production schedules to meet quality/output goals.
• Perform basic machine setup and routine adjustments as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues during operation.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections and document results.
• Support SPC and other quality control activities.
• Complete production records accurately and promptly.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Escalate equipment, process, or quality concerns to relevant team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and collaborate with teammates and engineers.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will operate and monitor manufacturing equipment used to produce high-quality medical devices while following established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This is a 2nd shift position, which is M-Th 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM.

Responsibilities may include:

• Operate bench-top and floor-type manufacturing equipment, including machine tools and automated or semi-automated production equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and production schedules to meet quality and output goals.
• Perform basic machine setup activities and make routine adjustments as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and identify potential issues during operation.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using gauges, fixtures, measuring tools, and other inspection equipment.
• Verify product quality and document inspection results in accordance with established procedures.
• Support statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control activities as required.
• Complete production records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance activities on equipment.
• Escalate equipment, process, or quality concerns to appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate effectively with teammates, production leads, engineers, and quality personnel to support manufacturing objectives.

Must Have: Required Qualifications

Nice to Have: Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, or production experience.
• Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with measuring tools, gauges, calipers, or inspection equipment.
• Experience following quality procedures and production documentation requirements.
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$38,400.00 - $57,600.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
