Job description

SUMMARY:

Saw Operators play a crucial role in the production process by operating and maintaining various saws, such as Chop saw, Double up cut , and Double down cut saws to ensure the efficient and accurate operation that contributes to the overall quality and timely production of pontoon boats.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Saw Operation:
    • Operate saw machinery as required.
    • Use of tape measure, and angles for accurate cuts.
    • Set up saws according to specifications for each production run.
    • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Perform routine quality checks to verify the accuracy and precision of cut parts.
    • Identify and report any issues or defects in the manufacturing process.
    • Collaborate with the quality control team to meet and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Conduct regular maintenance on saws to ensure optimal performance.
    • Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs or adjustments.
  • Adherence to Safety Protocols:
    • Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating tools/machinery.
    • Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with team members, including other production staff, to achieve production goals.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other relevant personnel.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of production volumes, and any adjustments made during the manufacturing process.
    • Complete production logs and reports as required.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Safety
    • Supports a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifies opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience operating chop saws, and other saw equipment.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to read a tape measure.
    • Must have the ability to perform all physical requirements required of the position, including but not limited to ability to stand, walk, push, pull, full range of motion, bend, kneel, climb, squat for 8+ hours and lift upward of 50 lbs.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work .
    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
