Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate production equipment in line with established procedures. This role emphasizes material handling, safety, and efficiency while maintaining accurate production records.

The position requires a minimum of 6 months in manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED is preferred, and the hourly pay range starts at $19.00 progressing to $21.00 with experience. This is an on-site role in California, Thornton.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling is required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 an hour dependent on experience

• pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
