Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator I to set up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. You will secure materials, feed the machine safely, and help maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety and quality procedures.

The position requires at least 6 months manufacturing experience and a minimum age of 18. This entry-level role offers exposure to CI programs and on-the-job skill development within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing and/or assembling.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area set up.
• Operates and feeds the machine in a safe and efficient manner, and according to established procedures.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and may cover, label and band components/finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
