Job Summary:

The Machine Operator performs set-ups, makes minor adjustments, and operates packaging equipment. Identifies acceptable or unacceptable product quality per customer requirements. Performs wash and changeover of equipment. Reliability and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are essential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs accurate setup on equipment for specific product runs.
  2. Operates and adjusts equipment to ensure proper functioning and quality standards.
  3. Inspects and tests packages, documenting results to verify quality.
  4. Prepares materials for quick and accurate changeovers.
  5. Completes all required documentation associated with the role.
  6. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP or willingness to learn.
  • Sufficient math skills for material calculations.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle small tools.
  • Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
  • English reading and writing skills preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
  • Work may involve warm or refrigerated environments depending on location.
  • Team-oriented environment requiring respectful communication.
  • Standing for up to 80% of scheduled time.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted and 40-75 lbs. with assistance.
  • Willingness to work overtime and across shifts as needed.
