Job Description

Title: Machine Operator

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Summary

Performs repetitive production and packing operations to process products such as plastic bottles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works from a production schedule within the work area.
  • Randomly checks products hourly to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Monitors product flow into processing machinery.
  • Tends machines like palletizers, case packers, injection machines, and box machines to maintain product flow.
  • Works at different stations as production needs require.
  • Checks finished products for defects.
  • Wears all required personal protective equipment.
  • Participates in all plant safety and accident prevention policies, maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas.
  • Follows all HACCP, GMP, and Product Safety guidelines.
  • Trains new and current team members on job tasks.
  • Learns new skills through training opportunities.
  • Performs any other assigned tasks.
  • Attends monthly shift meetings at 6am for day shift or 6pm for night shift.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of manufacturing experience or training. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Language Skills: Ability to read simple words and numbers, print, and speak basic sentences.

Physical Demands: Must manipulate products with both hands, stand for 12 hours, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently, perform repetitive motions, and work in extreme temperatures.

Training: Includes Lock Out/Tag Out, Bloodborne Pathogen, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Communication, Emergency Evacuation, Ladder Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Forklift Safety, HACCP/GMP, HRIS systems, and other corporate training.

Level of Authority: Report safety concerns, inspect products, shut down equipment if safety is threatened, and contact management without fear of reprisal.
